NFL’s Maia Chaka makes history as first Black woman to officiate an NFL game

Officiating in Sunday’s New York Jets at Carolina Panthers in Charlotte, North Carolina, Chaka is the third on-field feminine official within the NFL, becoming a member of Sarah Thomas, the first everlasting feminine game official, and Shannon Eastin, who was the first woman to officiate an NFL game.
