Personal Independence Payments: ‘Have I less than six months to live?’

The authorities has been accused of making a ‘two tier welfare system’ for individuals who have terminal sicknesses by two charities.

A evaluation of guidelines which fast-track entry to advantages for individuals who solely have six months or less to reside was launched two years in the past in England and Wales however has not been revealed. Scotland and Northern Ireland have taken steps to scrap the rule.

Marie Curie and the MND Association say the distinction between their areas leads to “a two-tier system”.

But the BBC has heard from terminally ailing individuals who had their funds lowered when their incapacity allowance was moved to Personal Independence Payments.
