Sport ‘very important’ in living with dementia

A County Armagh man who’s living with dementia has mentioned sport is a “crucial” a part of his life.

Gerard Doran, 62, who has performed and coached GAA in Lurgan, mentioned the bodily and psychological advantages from being concerned with the game and hillwalking has helped him really feel as if he’s “attaining one thing”.

“Sport is kind of unimaginable to me, in phrases of friendship, in phrases of emotions, in phrases of feat and it is not simply bodily, the psychological skills and the psychological advantages are fairly unimaginable,” he instructed BBC News NI.

“Meeting my buddies and speaking about all these instances, all these years, continues to be an important a part of my life.”
